When I was in the 8th grade my church had a Sunday School exchange - TopicsExpress

When I was in the 8th grade my church had a Sunday School exchange day with a Jewish synagog in Oakland. I remember the rabbi said that one of their members deli was having financial problems and would the members please go patronize his business. Also of a sudden you could hear the paper rattling and the pens clicking as they wrote down the address of their fellow members deli. I dont remember anything else said that day. But what I do remember is on my way home, I thought about my church. My mother being a strong financial supporter of our baptist church, owned a beauty salon. She fatefully had her children give money to the church every Sunday. What I realized, is not one time, had I ever heard the minister at our church, ask the membership to support any of the business owners of our church.....nuff said.....food for thought.
