When I was little, this track and it’s video were a really big deal! I clearly remember my love for this song, to the point that my mother would shout up the stairs to me if the song came on the radio, or the video was on MTV. “Band Aid’s on!”.. yeah, it was big deal :) Obviously I was too young to really realize how bleak the song was, and that starvation in Ethiopia was such a big deal. All I knew then was that this song was “Yay Christmas!” and that it featured SO many of the artists I cared about, all on ONE song! Only a few had vocal parts, and i didn’t even realize how many more their were… It wasn’t until years later that i really explored the history of this recording and why it came to be and it’s pretty amazing that all these folks came together to do this.
