When I was little, we used to go on vacations for a couple of weeks. Colorado was our favorite place to go. I loved standing on top of high mountains because of the view and the fact that I had something solid under my feet. Alternatively, I was terrified of bridges or towers where there was opportunity of falling. There happens to be one of the highest bridges in the world in Colorado that spans over a 14,000 foot canyon. Going over this bridge made no sense to me because there was nothing to get to on the other side, you just crossed the bridge for the thrill of it. Life is full of bridges. You have to figure out which ones to avoid, which to cross and which to burn once you cross them. For instance, marriage is a bridge to cross over and burn with no option of going back, that is Gods plan. Thats why when you divorce its not an easy path back to singleness, at times feeling like a life and death struggle getting back to the other side. With job opportunities you may want to take a chance and cross but leave the bridge intact in case your situation changes. There are some bridges that lead you to nowhere, places that will only bring pain and heartache, confused and wanting to come back but unable to find the bridge. Be wise in your paths, ask God to light the way and avoid the chaos that tries to distract and lead you astray. Gods path may take you through valleys of tough times but He will be with you. He will also take you to the mountains where you can rest and enjoy the view. Proverbs 4:10-19 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
