When I was little we used to walk along the old farmroads upon the land my Great, Great Grandpa found for us so many years ago out in the woods picking many milkweed pods, and dandelions by the fields, wild mushrooms throughout the pastures and by the ponds which we always had special recipes for, along with all Grandma grew & the game that we raised and hunted. We had everything we needed out there, and worked to replenish what we took to live.. there was never a shortage of monarchs, or all the different little colored butterflies-- they were everywhere...and the world only felt right with them. I will never lose my spite from when the county started coming down the old dirt and gravel roads spraying the chemicals---it was the first true invasion I can remember feeling--it was nothing short of evil--a covert war on my beloved natural world by something foreign, poisonous and ugly~ looking back, I can see it was the genesis of my having it in for the Man...who killed all me and daddies blackberries...whose demon-fueled machines made me and my little brother run into the house cause when they came by it wasnt safe to breathe---and we couldnt pick the pods from along the road no more...they put poison on them. Who did they think they were, God?
