When I was looking for a post-retirement place to settle in here in TN I made some of the same observations about Antioch as the principals in this article. My only concerns were actually the negatives I heard from other Nashville residents and my local (East Nashville) realtor. Doing more in-depth research on costs, crime, taxes, services, future trends, etc. and conversing on various social media and relocation sites with people like Antoine convinced me that buying a home in a nice Antioch neighborhood would meet my needs very nicely. (And, a year later, it has.) I am probably less surprised reading this article than a lot of folks who have lived their whole lives here. I may buy another home here next year as an investment. Property values are on their way UP. And a 300 acre mixed-use development by a successful company that’s proven they know how to stay one step ahead is sure to get a lot of other developers’ attention.
