When I was this age (about 10), I stood in line on the steps of Fuller Hall at St. Johnsbury Academy, waiting to buy tickets for a rare performance by Robin Williams. It was 38 degrees and raining, but I didnt care. I just knew I had the opportunity to see a genius work his magic. (As you can tell from the Mork and Mindy suspenders, I was a huge fan of the quick-witted comedian. Still am.) My mother saved up her hard earned dollars and trusted me to stand in line and buy the tickets myself. She knew the language was not appropriate for a ten-year-old, but she also knew how important that moment was to a young and impressionable actor. The performance was amazing. Now, three-and-a-half-decades later, I choose to remember the man who brought me laughter, and not focus on the way he left this earth. I hope you have found your peace, Mr. Williams. I know the angels in heaven can expect quite a show.
