When I was young, I tried all kinds of mediums. I tried many styles. I had a lot of fun doing them all. About 20 years ago I discovered colored pencils. Why did I choose this as my main medium? I enjoy having maximum control over the art I create. I love detail. Colored pencils are ideal for this. It also intrigues me that a humble pencil can be pushed to the level and impact of a painting. That is a nice surprise that goes along with the work. I can not tell you how many times I have spilled ink, splashed paint, dumped colored water on the floor, and worn as much of the medium on myself as on the surface I am working with. Now, when I drop everything all I have to do is pick up the pencils, lol. And hey - I still get to draw after all these years, something as a child we automatically do.
