When I was younger I only dreamed about getting up out of Wilson and North Carolina for that matter. I was determined to wealthy and have everything at my beckoning call. Two days after graduation I left home. I traveled here and there and pretty much everywhere. Different states, other countries and cities that seemed to be the size of a state. But now that I am 39 and I understand life so much better, believe it or not, for me and probably me only, there is no other place that I rather be than right here in my hometown surrounded by the folks that I am surrounded by. There are so many things that I would change about Wide Awake, but simply put, it has made me pretty much who and what I am. I know how to love people. I know how to respect people. I know how to treat people. I do know that everyone is not going to understand me, but thats ok. I guess tonight I just came to the realization that I am content with who I am, what I am and where I am. The most important people in my life are right round da corner regardless of what corner you are on. My beautiful 16 year old daughter is only a hop, skip and jump away regardless of which way you hop, skip and jump, and knowing that she knows Daddy is readily available is priceless. My friends are all around. Im not rich but I am able to pay my Greenlight Bill and my Wilson Utilities, and thats a blessing within itself. Life is good. I guess you can say Im so Wilson.
