When I woke up this morning, I had a butterfly just like this one sitting right beside my bed on the wall. So I looked, said hello and opened the window for him to fly out. He didnt move. I called the children, we all had a look, I tried to take a picture with my phone (phone didnt want to take a picture, hmmmmm!) and I took this beauty into my hand very carefully. He just sat there, didnt move much. Then my son wanted to hold him and he did. We decided to bring him downstairs, onto the terrace. So I cupped him in my hands and started walking down the stairs. The amount of ENERGY that was surging through my hands was so AMAZING! I really had to concentrate hard on walking, as the energy was really quite something! Somehow, he escaped in the living room, fluttered around for a bit and landed on our dinner table. So I cupped him again and tried to put him down on the terrace, to give him his freedom. He didnt want to walk off my hand! Then my daughter suggested we offer him a drink, and we put out some sugary water for him and tried to get him to drink it. No can do, he came back to my hand (maybe Guinness would have been the better choice!). Then he wandered over to my daughters hand, and we were able to watch how he unrolled his drinking nozzle (again, so AMAZING!!!). All that in a span of about twenty minutes, while we were still in our PJs. We had to leave him on the terrace to get ready and out of the house, and when I came back in the afternoon, he was gone. Do you know how very LOUD the flutter of a butterflys wings is? It is so cool, and I am still wowed more than 12 hours later.
