When I woke up this morning, I knew... just absolutely knew that I wanted to wear lots and lots of 10 Corso Como today. And its just been grand and dynamic and comforting as hell all day. Today is a cold rainy day and I stepped outside a bit ago and decided to grab my Goorin Bros hat, which I never wear. The perfume and the hat wearing were most likely both a subconscious effort on my part to find a connection to my friend Tama, after hearing yesterday that she was not doing well. My bottle of 10 Corso Como used to be hers and it was one of her favorite perfumes. When we were in San Francisco this summer, she and Don snuck away to the Goorin Bros shop to hat shop (one of his favorite activities) and Tama fell in love with a hat and went back later and bought it. So, I stepped out into the rain, brought FB up on my phone and instantly learned that Tama has passed away this morning. And I sobbed a bit. But the smell of the perfume and the hat on my head cut through my grief and brought a smile. Tama, we had a brief window of friendship, but you were fierce and funny and loyal and did a great job pretending to be tough as nails while still letting your vulnerabilities show. You will be missed and you will also be greatly remembered.
