When I woke up yesterday, everything was in disarray.... It had - TopicsExpress

When I woke up yesterday, everything was in disarray.... It had the makings of a disastrous day....being that there were many things that I was hoping to accomplish. I did keep the faith that SOMEHOW things would work themselves out....and they did...even though I couldnt make it to Roanoke to see Jagged Edge and The Alumni...and The House Band consisting of Calvin A. Buck and Tony Camm....nor did I make it to Big Lick to see the show there....BUT, I was able to secure two tickets to the Redskins-Cowboys game in MD this year... I made a brief appearance at the Lynchburg Beer and Wine Festival. Shout out to Mary A Hayes, Jonathan Mclaughlin, Mimi Supernaw, Carrie Robinson, Jenny Layne, Will Keatts, Wade Campbell, Dawn Hall Campbell, Rhonda Ritenour Cornwell, Jase Brashear and Laura Ann Hendricks. By the grace of the beautiful Donna Mays, I was able to exit the festival Stage Left, and make it to DeVault Vineyards and witness the wedding of my good friend Heather Peters. Everything was beautiful...especially the bride...being there was like a bowling alley reunion and an Ale House reunion a wine festival and a wedding...all wrapped in one. Shout out to Curtis Mays, Casey Sigmon, Crystal Moore, Roxanne Webber, Cindy Rowe, Stacy Paris and Alma Abisia Hesson whose playlist was on point AND who handed me the Mic for the first time in a while to drop an old school rap performance....and thank you Jessica Monetti for allowing my +1, Hope Scott to make it. Her arrival is the point where I knew everything was going to be fine. After the wedding, we were able to make it to Phase 2 to take in a Funky Bone performance. Melvin Pribble and Chris Thomas never disappoint..... Shout out to Kevin Sadler, Lauren Smyk, Marge Caltagirone and Gwen West-Jarman..... Sorry we couldnt stay for the whole show, but the 30th installment of Karate Chop Hip Hop was going on too and I also never try to miss what Kris Collins and Donnie Don Kron Wilson bust their butts to offer our city every month....and most importantly, Case Jones had announced that it was going to be his last rap performance. I HAD TO try to catch that. Dude is a beast. Luckily, I walked in just in time to catch him take the mic. Also shout out to Michele Ponseti, Mark Dj-dmob Burks, Blair Shelton and Rodney Yuille. Its always interesting......then we capped it off with Cheesy Westerns....and in doing so, I got to see one of my middle school classmates, Shantee Johnson Elliott. I didnt accomplish everything, but I accomplished much.... And I didnt forget you, Lauren Jahnke, but since you had Calvins back before mine.....well, ya know. So all in all..... September 20, 2014 was epic indeed.
