When Jack was very small he and his mom lived in Lame Deer for a while. He said they lived in a house where Dull Knife is now. He talks about the theater that used to be behind where the Flower Grinder is now. His step dad worked for Robby Burns. Later , after they moved down to the house on the creek they had a dairy. He and his mom, Helen delivered milk in Lame Deer for years. He said Laura Toohey Alison took him around to play the slot machines after he got the milk delivered. A blind lady lived in one of the places they took milk. Jack said she had a rope tied from her door to the outhouse so she could find her way. He said on his fourth birthday the only person he asked to be there was Claudia Rowland.
