When Jesus opens the door Rev 4:1 “ I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven. “ This verse must be understood, if we are to correctly interpret the divisions in the book of Revelation. There are three divisions. . This is clearly stated by Rev. 1:19. “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;” Notice the 3, {a} has seen, {b} things seen now, and {c} things which shall be hereafter. That verse is the key verse to the book. It unlocks the door of our understanding. If we miss that verse, we have missed the leadership of the Lord! If 1:19 is the key that opens the door, then 4:1 is the hinge upon which it swings! If we miss the significance of this verse, then we will be as guilty as any of the cults. We will misinterpret the rest of the book, if we miss it here. Hereafter and after these things! THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE VERSE . It Is A Transitional Verse - Ch. 1:19 The things which are to take place after the rapture. The Greek word used here is. Meta-tauta - meaning After these things!. Ch. 3 Is the last word on the church until Chapter 19, upon the earth! You see the church is raptured , When [Chap. 4:1} God shows John into heaven. He is a Type of the rapture! John represents the caught up believers! There must be a rapture here! If it isn’t, our entire theology is washed up. THE SWEETNESS OF THE VERSE An Escape - No tribulation for the church! Now you need to read these verses I Thes. 5:9 and 1 Thes 4:16-17 - caught up means = to snatch away. (Implies haste and rescue) The church will be rescued from impending doom! Judgment Is Coming no question about that. - (Rev. 2:22; Rev. 3:10) but in Chaps. 6 thru-19- we have the wrath of God poured out upon all who have not received Jesus Christ as their savior. The bible is so clear on this, that I don’t know how anyone can miss it . 1 Thessalonians 5:9 “ For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” Now why would God allow his wrath to be poured out on his children? The answer is he wouldn’t. Why because his wrath was already poured out on Jesus. If the church [ that is you and me] were to go through the wrath of God then Jesus would have needed to take our place at the old rugged cross. It will never happen friends. No wonder we need to exult him. Surely, Paul would not be warning us to watch for a day that would be coming at the end of the tribulation. That type of logic would be like warning children, as they cross the road, to watch out for tail lights. Hebrews 10:25: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Oh that day, meaning the day of the rapture. This isn’t the time to fear the wrath of God this is the time to look up [because of the wrath of God] no, it says we should look up because our redemption draweth nigh. That means it can be today. Are we ready, for the rapture right now? That is the question. If not why not?
