When Jesus rebukes his disciples, he does not single out Judas and does not identify his motive, but makes his remarks to all the disciples. He knew the hearts of all his disciples, and knew what motivated each of them. He knew that those who loved him would grow through that experience, and would seek to understand more as they grew in their love for him. Jesus let them rest with their choices and decisions. The selfish attitude compromised Judas, and in the end he betrays Jesus.
