When Jesus went to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to earth and - TopicsExpress

When Jesus went to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to earth and those waiting in the upper room were baptized in the Holy Spirit and all who were present received their tongues or more commonly called their prayer language. Eleven apostles and 109 disciples all received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the outward sign of praying in tongues. Jesuss mother received her prayer language also. This was the beginning of the Church and their was no one else for the Holy Spirit to go to. As the church grew so did the influence of the Holy Spirit because as they got born again they also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit just like the first 120 believers did. In Acts John and Peter made a special trip to a church who had received Jesus but not the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They went there, laid hands on them and they received their prayer language. They were already converts but John and Peter made a special trip to that church for those people to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, to be endowed with power from on high, and to receive their prayer language just like the first 120 disciples did. It was said that the Holy Spirit hadnt fallen upon them. But it was important for John and Peter to make a special trip to lay their hands on them to receive. Fast forward to today. There are many denominations that dont pursue that ideal of the early church. In the early church it was imperative for them to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the outward evidence of speaking in tongues. What happened from the early church to the church of today? I have prayed in tongues for over thirty years now. Yet it was ten years ago that God witnessed to me that every church mentioned in the New Testament all prayed in tongues. Because I was around so many people and denominations that didnt pray in tongues that I assumed it was the same way back then. It was a new learning experience to know that the epistles were written to believers that were baptized in the Holy Ghost and spoke in their own prayer language. So what happened from then till this day and age? Satan has blinded the eyes of those that believe not lest the glorious light of the Gospel of Christ should shine unto them. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is being baptized into Gods power being that the Holy Spirit is Gods Spirit and His power. What else gap been stolen from the Church? The deliverance ministry. Those two areas have been taken out of a lot of churches and denominations and has weakened the church. My daughter was praying in tongues and kicking out demons at the age of seven. My son fours younger was doing the same thing by the age of seven. Theres a weakened church because of wrong teaching. People are weak, or sick, or feeble because a vast majority of churches have accepted wrong teachings and cannot minister correctly. But there are churches out there that have not bought into Satans lies and those are the churches that need to be sought out. Those that have the power of God and the gifts of the Holy Spirit present and the ministers that flow in Gods power so that His people can be healed or restored and built up. It was worth my time to write this, I hope it was worth your time to read it. God bless you.
