When Joe Morelle announced he was stepping down as Party Chair last year, his primary argument was that he wanted to be able to devote more time to his role as Majority Leader to help affect positive change in the community. Im sure there were skeptics of these motives. However, yesterdays landmark announcement by Governor Cuomo of an effort to combat poverty in Rochester demonstrates just how effective a public servant Joe is. Whether its bringing together community stakeholders or courting the support of Albany, we are lucky to have his leadership.
