When Kashius gets chemo, first he gets his port accessed with a needle. Second, they draw blood for the lab to read his counts. Third, he gets infusions of chemo, meds to prevent nausea, and meds to prevent a form of pnuemonia. This takes a couple of hours so he waits. Two years ago when he was diagnosed, a bunch of my former Siena dancers over the years bought him an ipad...this has been verrrrry valuable for that waiting time. Today he got to hang out with his grandpa also so the time flew by. Finally, counts are read, nightly meds go up or down depending on counts and the needle comes out. Off to school for his spelling test and GYM!!
