When MC Elston Red Devils won the Indiana State Finals in 66,there was a huge all City gathering at Ames Field - I remember seeing plenty of Marquette (although at that time it was known as St. Marys Blazers) St. Marys kids and parents and teachers and priests and nuns all attending and cheering for all of us - this was a time when the CITY was a true All-American CITY - and the Marquette kids were all invited to our pep sessons and they attended and CHEERED ALL OF US ON ! Thats what helped to make us the city we were years ago. I want to believe were just as good now as we were then. CONGRATULATIONS MC BLAZERS !!!!!!
