When Neffertiti appeared on tonights list, many a heart broke. Everyone who ever encountered her (and her elderly daughter, Luv) is in LOVE with this sweet and pudgy senior. Yes, we would love to see her and Luv go into one home; right now, however, the priority is Neffertiti. HER life will end tomorrow, unless someone opens their home and heart for her. And that, Urgent community, would be a crying shame... A volunteer writes: Neffertiti and her daughter Luv, two elderly gentle ladies were left into our care as their owners became homeless.According to their masters, both dogs are quite bonded which is not surprising as the first living thing Luv saw when she came to life , was her mom, Neffertiti. They would be easy going, very sociable and extremely loving. Clearly, they were both nicely cared for and loved. Neffertiti wears her name well. She is indeed as beautiful and royal as a queen. She has very distinctive and unusual markings, almost a mask that makes her stand out in the crowd. She owns the greatest smile and the naughtiest eyes which together with her generous forms make her look like a very spunky matriarch. Neffertiti lays calmly at her door. She is all eyes on me. She is ready to go out, be in company and do her business, a task she performs as soon as we leave the building. She wants to make friends with people and dogs, bounces on her hinds and barks faintly. She is a bit anxious as she just came in…and cries softly. She loves a butt scratch. She seeks comfort in my arms after jumping into my lap and kisses me while being caressed and hugged. Neffertiti and her daughter were the talk of the yard yesterday. They are both lovable elderly who would make wonderful TV, lap top or book buddies. They walk slowly but surely allowing a peaceful stroll around the block or the park after a full day at work… What do you think? Well, do not think too much. Neffertiti and Luv, two Manhattan Care Center darlings are awesome gals, well brought up, sweet, sociable and lively who will brighten up your life for as long as you will have them around.Quality time is what really counts… Do not make them wait too long…
