When Randy Delarney, Nova Scotia Minister of Environment, tells you there is no evidence that increased particulate emissions from the Northern Pulp mill in Pictou do any harm, he is lying to you. I have devoted my life to the spirit and science of Nature, and unlike Delorey, I dont have a conflict of interest or secret investments, nor do I give a damn about towing the party or corporate line. So, here are the facts about the harm caused by increased particulate emissions plaguing the village of Pictou from its nearby mill. This is just one tiny bit of the evidence, but its from the American National Institute of Health. You decide if youre going to believe this or Delorey. Or maybe, decide if that scant few jobs that festering mill creates are more important than the lingering illnesses you and your children will suffer from it.
