When Republican Mike Huckabee, an ordained Baptist Minister, was governor in AR, there were a series of devastating tornadoes and the inslurance companies refused to pay for the damage because the policies said they would not pay for any damage causse by an act of God. Huckabee made them pay by saying, This was not an act of God, this was an act of nature. Many years before that, as a child, I was being unruly of disobedient and my mother said, You better change your ways or God will punish you. The parish Priest happened to be in ear shot and quickly corrected her. He said, God is love. God does not punish us. Two indpendent sources from opposite endds of the religous and political spectrum seem to think that Atamusis wrong.
