When Rush Limbaugh imitated Chinese President Hu Jintaos speaking Mandarin (Ching, chang, wallawalla bing bang--my imitation of Limbaughs imititation) liberals came down hard on his racism, which he denied. One of these was state senator Leland Yee. When Yee was indicted for corruption, Rush took the opportunity to gloat. In Limbaughs mind Yees corruption invalidated his charge of racism. In my mind that is an apples and oranges comparison. You can be corrupt and against racism at the same time. In any case, to Rush Limbaugh, this was just another opportunity to get another dig in by playing the offensive sound bite one more time. Rush Limbaugh is either being completely cynical or is oblivious to his own racism. So are many Americans who listen to him daily. But racial insensitivity does not begin with Rush Limbaugh; he simply amplifies it.
