When Troubles Come “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.” - Matthew 7:24-26 My friend, in this world there are going to be troubles, it is inevitable. But God is omniscient and He knows every situation you will encounter. He even knows how you will respond in the mist of those circumstances. We must rely on His grace in these difficult times. God wants you to know that you can depend upon Him. He is the only solid foundation that will not shift under the weight of our circumstances. So, when the rains come down, when the streams rise, and the wind blows and beat against you, remember that you are in Christ. Remember, if you are trusting and relying on Christ, you are like the wise man who built his house upon the rock. It did not fall because its foundation was on the solid rock, and that rock is Jesus Christ.
