When Verónica Cárdenas (back row, right), set off on her AFS adventure from Mexico City in July,1980, little did she know, it was the beginning of a life defining experience for her and her family. After spending a year in the United States, Veronica volunteered at the AFS World Congress 1981 in Mexico. Almost twenty-five years later, she opened an AFS Chapter in Merida, Mexico, determined to send her children on an AFS Program. After sending her daughter to Switzerland, her son to Norway, hosting a student from Serbia and spending years helping AFS Participants get the most out of their program in Mexico, Veronica is now the Board Chair of AFS Mexico and a great example of a true AFser. #100days100stories #AFS100 #AFS #AFSeffect instagram/p/tlUUrjGc_l/
