When Wallabout Market closed down in 1941, the Brooklyn Navy Yard - TopicsExpress

When Wallabout Market closed down in 1941, the Brooklyn Navy Yard took over this land. Thats about the time my dad went to work at the Navy Yard as a welder. He was 21 years old and helped in the war effort at there but then was drafted in 1943 into the Army Infantry where he continued as a welder helping maintain the railroads for the troops. (Please read below the photo for more history - fascinating.)
