When You Crash, REPORT IT. This afternoon, a man had called reporting to the Northampton Barracks that he had crashed overnight on I-91 Southbound near exit 17 in Holyoke. The caller stated that he had crashed, was not injured, left the scene and went home. The caller wanted to know where his car had been towed to; there was no record of a crash ever reported. After a thorough search, the reporting person’s car was located approximately 100 feet in a thick wooded area, approximately 300 feet off the road. The moral of the story is, if you crash, report it immediately. Do not leave the scene. Thankfully this driver was uninjured, but had he been trapped in his vehicle or any severe injury, the outcome could have been much different.
