When a Coach begins to pick his team based on familiarity other form and performance, this is what you get. We saw this with Lippi after his team won the World Cup, when he dropped the likes of Cassano from SA, and we know how the story ended. Vicente Del Bosque left the best Spanish goalie at home in Diego Lopez. Other than Diego Costa (Whose pattern of football does not fit in Spanish game), he left his two best strikers at home in Fernando Ilorente and Alvaro Negredo, in favor of Sister Torres and David Villa. Todays result has proved that once again, and left for me, Id have taken Jesus Navas to this competition so as to add width to this team, and drop Fabregas to sulk at home. Spain will not win this competition, not because they are not good enough, but because of the failings of Del Bosque. Jaochim Low has same problem with Germany, but somehow the Germans will go further than Spain, even-though I dont see them winning it either. This is one reason National team Coach should not be left for too long, as it tend to create a bond with the squad players that does more harm than good to the team. Congratulations Van Gaal, for tactically outsmarting this Spanish team that ooze talent.
