When an elected state lawmaker/assemblyman makes a statement such as I would hold my nose and vote to re-institutionalize slavery if thats what my constituents really wanted then you have a damn problem. The guys name is Jim Wheeler by the way. I love politics, I really do, but I think its time for an update on the whole political system, with regards to lawmaking and the states representatives. Im tired of only two or three people being that face and voice of Kentucky. I dont like Mitch, Beshear or any of the Pauls. They dont speak for me just as they dont speak for thousands of other Kentuckians. We dont need a smaller government. We need a government that listens more to its people and less of the people elected. The fact that the people are the ones who elected these representatives is not lost on me. But, when you have to pick between a crap sandwich and a crap burrito, you obviously go with the one less foul. I just dont feel that the current system in place is indicative of how the general masses really feel.
