(She speaks in an exhaspirated tone inferring old news, who cares)Derek has been on the force for many years already. We are all aware of his behavior. Thats how he has always been. This isnt the first time he has done things like this. Im sure it wont be the last either.When asked to coment further about the officers Track Record Lieutenant Heidi Michel states in an attempt to minimalize and excuse the officers actions by pointing a life long debilitating medical condition the officer suffers from.(I do believe this is the first time the public has been privy to the following information. I hope it will help to shed some light on what hardships apparently many lawmen battle with while still honoring their sworn oath to protect and serve the public) When Lieutenant Heidi J. Michel emphatically states:He isnt the only one around here like that. Weve got a few others working for Green Bay PD and a few working for Brown County Sheriffs Dept. too. Were used to dealing with all of them though when they bring someone into the jail. I tell my staff to just deal with it. The sooner we can get their people proscessed the sooner we can get these officers out of here. We are all well aware of his attitude. He certainly does have an aggressive demeanor. Thats how he treats us too. We all know it. What his problem is. Is that He Suffers From What We Call Little Man Syndrome. I will refrain from comment here other than to say... WTF??? Where do we find these people? This type of thinking and behavior rests solely on the Sheriffs shoulders! He is an elected official. The Chief of Police is not elected. Who polices him/her? 1.) City & County Board members certainly share a major part of the responsibility. They hire the chief of police. What of the District Attorney (DA)??? That is an elected office. Yet most people assume the DAs Office is also an impartial entity protecting all the interests of the general public. LOL... Better think again folks! The DAs office primary duty is to protect the legal interests of the body of their community. That means in part. They have the backs and cover the asses of all the officials and their offices first. Think about all of what that implies and dont develope a headache when you see what it all implies.
