When asked according to the comments, this is supposed to be a highly clever joke that makes fun of the horrible prequels Can anyone intelligently explain to me why the prequels were so bad? A poster said: 1. The obnoxious Trade Federation guys and their bad Godzilla overdub Japanese stereotypical accents. 2. Lousy, unappealing vehicle and ship design. 3. Phone-in performances from otherwise good actors, like Natalie Portman and Liam Neeson. 4. Jake Lloyd reading all his lines like he was in a grade school play. 5. Midichlorians... the Force didnt need an explanation and no one asked for one. 6. Everything looked too polished. 7. Boss Nass and his slobbering. 8. Congratulatory ceremony for a droid. This is a minor complaint, but since I personally have never awarded my toaster a medal, I found it extremely stupid. 9. Immaculate conception backstory... I remember wanting to laugh when I first saw this, and then someone in the theater did. Loud. 10. Watto. He was annoying and there is no way he could fly with those tiny wings. 11. Speaking of Watto, joke about the Jedi mind trick. IF you are supposed to watch all 6 movies in order, as Lucas claims, it was a reference to something that happens in episode 4, so you have no idea what the joke is about. 12. Poop and fart jokes. Like much of the humor in the film, these are jokes made by someone who doesnt know how to be funny. 13. Sebulba. Like Watto, his design is biologically improbable. Also, when he loses the podrace, he exclaims POODOO, which Jabba says in Episode 6 and is translated as fodder; thats just livestock feed. I fail to see how that is any sort of alien curse word. 14. The battle droids keep saying roger roger, which combined with the fact that their voices were already stupid was nails on a chalkboard for me. Plus they looked silly. 15. The reveal that Portman was actually Queen Amidala. If that was supposed to be a surprise, epic failure. 16. The setting for the battle between the Gunguns and the droids seemed like a better place for a picnic than a battle. It was so sunny out. I realize historically sometimes battles took place in such settings, but it looked bad in a Star Wars movie. 17. Anakins involvement in a space battle that seemed tacked on in the first place. 18. Complete lack of engaging and coherent storytelling. 19. And this is the biggest complaint, BORING! That was just the first one. It was also off the top of my head without having watched the film in well over a decade. Im sure I had more complaints after I saw it initially, AND I thought of all that without even mentioning you know who. ************** I actually thought the new trailer was a fake fan sub until I saw in in the movie previews. I feel bad for the franchise as they are turning what was a classic and innovative movie series into an epic joke!
