When asked how he would close racial inequities in Minneapolis schools, Minneapolis mayoral candidate Cam Winton says (after the "cut business red tape" garbage) he would seek authority to appoint MPS board members (plural). Sorry, Mr. Winton, but we have a democratically-elected school board (and park board), and despite any shortcomings it is the decision of the people to "appoint" by ballot, not the mayor; This is a "weak mayor" city.
