When asked to run for Warrick County Prosecutor by too many - TopicsExpress

When asked to run for Warrick County Prosecutor by too many Warrick County law enforcement personnel on which to put a good number, it was not a decision I made in haste. I did some in-depth research into the growing chorus of dissent. I was told, and found incidents of serious cases (mostly Molestation) that were dismissed by the current prosecutor in the week immediately preceeding a trial by jury - dismissed, mind you, not pled out; I was told and found incidents of charges being presented for filing - and the officers involved finding out through secondhand news that no charges were forthcoming; I was told, and have found incidents of officers being subpoenaed for trial, taking time off from their duties to sit in court, only to be told that their case had previously been dismissed; I have heard from many, many Warrick County Law Enforcement Officers that they are frustrated by the lack of cooperation with the current Prosecutor, and feel they are simply involved in fishing - catch and release - of criminal defendants (please, do not simply take my word for this, ask your favorite Warrick County Law Enforcement Officer); and, I have been told, and have seen letters sent out from the Prosecutor to individuals who have exercised their rights to obtain a Protective Order, having that Order be violated - only to be told by this Prosecutor that this is not a criminal matter, but rather a civil matter. It should be noted that violating a Protective Order is a crime, it is called Invasion of Privacy, a Class A Misdemeanor. It should further be noted that Domestic Violence is a very serious matter in our community, and needs to be handled appropriately. After being able to determine the validity of these concerns, and after thorough discussion with my family - apprising them of the sacrifices to come - I made the decision to run for this office to make a difference in Warrick County. Remember, remember, remember - we are exactly what our records suggest we are. View my Profiles in Prosecution for the last 3+ years and then demand a similar response from the current office holder. Promises of actions to come are simply words - results are more indicative of what you may expect in the future.
