When believers come together Christ comes in our midst in a special way and we are able to build up, encourage, comfort and challenge one another as fellow christians using the spiritual gifts God has given us to use in serving Him and each other. When we choose not to fellowship with one another we deprive others of the blessings of our gifts and we deprive ourselves of their gifts and the visitation of the presence of the Lord. Ive been guilty of this many times before and was convicted recently by the Spirit for doing this and I felt the need to speak on it. We live in a busy world, we all have various responsibilities, and we cant possibly attend every church service, but we all have had that moment when we could have come to church but we chose not to and then felt bad when we heard how great the service or prayer meeting was or when one the saints said you were missed and you know you didnt have a legitimate excuse for not showing up. So next time you have to make a choice whether to go to church or not be sure to listen to the voice of the Spirit and the voice of your conscience. Resist the devil and he will flee from you, crucify the flesh and your spirit will be refreshed, turn your eyes on Jesus and the things of the world will go strangely dim, and then wash your face, get dressed and make your way to church. Come if you can, be blessed and be a blessing, but always remember you were called by God to be a blessing to others. Were all parts of the Body of Christ, the head to the toe and everything in between are all needed for the Body to function efficiently. These are the last days and believers need each other now more than ever. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT)
