When building social apps it seems that, judging by the marketing videos that come with these products, they are all best experienced at a concert, the beach, in the snow, or at a slumber party. While there are only a handful of homogenous social situations that can appeal to a wide audience, its unfortunate, for the people building these products all seem to be taking from the same cookie jar. By doing this it basically guarantees all of these products will blend together into an amorphous cluster of apps that no one really finds value in. In short, I would love to see this stigma challenged. Somehow.
