When businesses treat me poorly because I am living in the same - TopicsExpress

When businesses treat me poorly because I am living in the same county, I think less of them. It is not right. An injustice. A business should treat a professional based upon their talent alone. This city will grow exponentially with words like honesty, trust and respect embedded in their fiber. At one of the places I played there was a facility with a window which would amplify sound. I was not allowed to play a keyboard wherein I could adjust the volume. The piano had uneven/skipping/hammers and was badly out of tune and completely bright from old felts. The situation was impossible. It hurt my ears to play on the wretched thing and I can imagine the effect wasnt too kind on the patrons. And this led to my focus shifting. More than once I was told to keep it down. They offered no pay. I have had the similar injustice with many churches. My enthusiasm and attitude are put to the test at places like these wherein I am asked to make music without compensation nor credit. It has been the custom of the businesses I have played at to play multiple additional sound (radio/CD/mp3) at the front and inside the venue while I am performing and in some cases one or more television sets. The result is of course what is known as cacophony. It is a losing situation for the pianist. It is disrespectful and does not honor the profession. https://youtube/watch?v=o5ncDuVwrqI
