When confronted with this statement: The First Commandment says, You shall have no other gods before Me. That proves He isnt the only God! Give this reply: Thats true. Man has always made false gods. But there is only one true God, the Creator. An old adage says, God created man in His own image, and man has been returning the favor ever since. Hindus have millions of gods. Sometimes gods are made of wood or stone; other times man makes up a god in his mind. Whatever the case, making a god to suit yourself is called idolatry, and is a transgression of both the First and Second of the Ten Commandments. Psalm 115: 4-9 states: Their idols are silver and gold, The work of mens hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat. Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them. Remember Gods words: And God spoke all these words, saying I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that in in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. Exodus 20: 1-4
