When doing a protest, you have to game plan your opponent, just - TopicsExpress

When doing a protest, you have to game plan your opponent, just like a football game. You dont just go into it with your playbook, you watch THEIR plays. So...as this gets national coverage, expect VH1 to issue a statement. Now, that statement can go in a number of ways: 1. Defiant delusion: VH1 stands solidly behind our program #SororitySisters as a positive representation of college educated women... This statement is basically saying, we dont care, and were sticking it out because we think the franchise (or relationship with Mona) is important enough to take these hits. I doubt that VH1 goes that route, mainly because they KNEW theyd get hammered, so they tried to slide the show in under the radar. But..who knows. 2. Were Sorry...But...: VH1 regrets that members of the black Greek community have objected to #SororitySisters, but... This statement will sound IMMINENTLY reasonable...and will contain words like strong black women and college and role models. But regardless of the statement they choose, EXPECT that VH1 will try to pay you off: but as a result, VH1 and Mona...will make a donation of $50K/$100K to XYZ charity, scholarship, etc. This monetary figure is designed to put protesters in a moral dilemma, and to cull off those who are members of BGLOs, but arent too invested in the protest. The idea is that if VH1 can APPEAR to hold the moral high ground (because who can argue with how much scholarships would benefit X amount of women, so shouldnt we just stop and let the show go on...), they think they can win. You see, giving any amount of money to XYZ org is cheaper than pulling a show. But...what price your dignity? So thats the okey doke I expect from VH1. Theyre probably reading my posts anyway, so I figure wed let them know too.
