When explaining Barack Obamas unpopularity in Louisiana, Senator - TopicsExpress

When explaining Barack Obamas unpopularity in Louisiana, Senator Mary Landrieu made a comment that the south has not been the friendliest place for African Americans. ... With that said, the souths history of its treatment of African Americans has been well documented through photography, film, and legal documents, and it is absolutely 100% undeniable that her statement is true. If the history is so well documented, then why are some people, including the Governor, asking her for an apology? The flat out denial of history and the unwillingness to allow it to become a topic real of discussion highlights the fact that the south has made relatively little progress when it comes to racial issues, and has no intentions to do so.. I wont go on to talk about how the souths ideological stances consistently result in rankings among states with lowest standard of living, health, education, and highest rankings in poverty and incarceration rates...
