When horrific events happen in our country, such as the Navy Yard - TopicsExpress

When horrific events happen in our country, such as the Navy Yard Shootings on Monday, we are traditionally shown just the names of the victims - either in the newspaper, on the internet, or on the news. However, there is so much more to the people who become the innocent victims of tragedies such as this. Most of us may have never met the 12 victims, but they do leave family and friends behind. They leave behind loved ones who will never again be able to hear their voice. They leave behind children who will never again be able to get a hug for support. They leave behind friends who will never again be able to depend their smile to help make it thru a difficult day. They leave behind a wife or husband who will never again be able to depend on the person they love being the rock they always are. Each of the 12 people have a story and we should always try to remember this when we take time to think about the loss or when we say a prayer. To our own family, friends, and loved ones, we are much more than the name our mother gave us. Just like our family and loved ones are so much more to us than what we call them. The stories of the 12 innocent Americans who lost their lives can be found at ABC News. abcnews.go/US/wireStory/navy-yard-shooting-victims-long-careers-20288682?singlePage=true You can also listen to this clip of Bert Weiss from The Bert Show (airs in Atlanta and D.C.), who took time to read the story of each person: thebertshow/former-reservist-killed-12-people-mass-shooting-yesterday-washington-d-c-navy-yard/ I pray we may always remember: each time a life is lost, whether it be from tragedy on American soil, or from the loss of life in our military actions, many are affected and many are mourning.
