When i got back home to Siracusa last week, it marked the end of a long chapter that started with my first session in Reykjavik, Iceland at the end of april 2013. It was there, with the help of Hjálmar and a smorgasbord of other icelandic musicians that i recorded Legao, my second solo-album. It doesnt have much in common with my first solo-album Unrest ( a very electronic affair.) Legao is a POP album that sounds 70s more than anything. Like The Whitest Boy Alive its made by recording a band playing together, all at the same time, in a very good studio. On many of the songs even the vocals are recorded at the same time. This is something that is becoming increasingly rare. But its a kind of record-making that i have a huge soft spot for. Some of the songs where easy, and others required a 2nd and 3rd try, but by july 2014 the album was recorded, mixed and mastered. And my friend Yoon Hye Cho made an incredible cover. The vinyl version of this album sounds particularly good. If you care that much about music that you have a vinyl player and good speakers at home, i recommend to order the Legao-vinyl online at Krasserstoff.de. If you have a more casual relationship to music-consuming, or if you want to try before you buy, or if you like me, simply love Spotify for its convenience and green logo, go ahead and have a listen. Thanks to everyone who came to see our live-shows in october, november and december. And i wish for you all a relaxing christmas, hopefully in a beautiful place, surrounded by the people you love and care about. Erlend.
