When i was a kid, the world was a confusing morass of white noise - TopicsExpress

When i was a kid, the world was a confusing morass of white noise rather like having the vacuum cleaner taped to the side of your head. When I was a little older I had Spock (the Vulcan) to console me; he was someone who saw the world kinda like I did but that worked only for a while as he was undeniably only a TV character - and Nimoy collapsed the illusions waveform completely by releasing that LP with the execrable bilbo on it! What you going to do-ee -oh? How about stick it up your arse? And it was back to the morass. As time passed, I began to figure out some of the rules - they were all at once arcane, alarming and stupid and I said so - without having to be asked (of course) - which turned out to be an exceptionally bad idea and even worse because it took me quite a while to figure that one out. I also began to figure out that many of the people who actually understood the rules were too stupid to use them properly and this kind of leveled the playing field. Of course I told everyone this (without having to be asked..........) Over time I became adept at feigning normality but some of my friends will probably say that the veneer has some significant holes in it - more at some times than others. When I was a kid there was no ADHD and no Aspergers, there was just bad behaviour for which, more often than not, you were beaten - which made primary school in particular a real blast for me (I believe that is called sarcasm). The scars may have gone from my hands and my arse, but they remain in my head.
