When i was sent South in the 9th grade it was difficult to find a High School. When i was excepted at the DC Street Academy High School it was different but it change my life and guided me to the right path in life. The first lesson i received in this historical African American City was about a woman whom became a member of Congress whom sat on its board of chambers Senator Ealinor Holmes Norton Whom cared and never gave up on this forgotten City which is plauqed with violence and poverty.Im a graduate of the class of 1997.The School was under the tooltalidge of Principal Reginal Eliot whom gave us all hope with a promise of a job with a internship with the Canon Company in Virginia. I was kind of different afterwards i was place in the Army J.R.O.T.C i was laughed at for coming to School wearing my uniform to School. The facualty was shocked about my arrest and help me sign up for night School classes at Spingarn High School in North East i manage to get enuff credits to graduate i completed my required one hundred hours of community service. I than was enrolled in a College preparation and enrollment program. I decided to leave my new friends and the violent streets of Washington DC for Livingston College in Salisbury,North Carolina.
