When imperfections were a way of life in the good old days of analog and early digital recording, singers tried to conquer them with hard work.In reality these these small imperfections made the voice sound human...Now imperfections are always and relentlessly covered making the vocals sound robotic and singers losing identity of their voices....Every voice seems to be pitch perfect, machine like and stretched through a pipe...Singers struggle on stage when singing live and they are very lazy in front of the mic as they are sure that pitching imperfections would be invariably corrected by software. I have witnessed music directors giving the green signal even when the singing was atrociously out of tune...They say...I just want the feel...I will do the rest with auto tuner and melodyne :) This invariably corrupts the singers and makes them lose the urge to work harder to sing in tune....Unfortunately its a way of life now and its fashionable too :)
