When in Kiev, Ukraine - why not pay a visit to this fabulous Free Gym in the Park, all made from rusty metal scrap parts of heavy machines. It was created in the early 1970s by a group of healthy lifestyle activists including Polish gymnast Kasimir Jagesky and Yuri Kuk, a cybernetics engineer. Kuk originally took a piece of anchor chain from a ship rotting nearby and began to use it as a barbell chain. The other original equipment in the gym was constructed of wood before being replaced by iron, which people brought from all over the city in the Soviet era in order to build the gym.
