When it came to music I must say I had the most indulgent and generous parents one could ever ask for. They both loved music. Daddy loved country and Mom loved folk music and hymns. They never once told me to turn the music down unless company came. Daddy made sure I went to The Beatles and The Monkees concerts when they came to Memphis. If I was at home my stereo was on! In 1970-71 I brought home the album Bloodrock which had the hit single DOA on it. It is one creepy song, and to this day I have never heard another like it. It is the story of a plane crash survivor that dies in the ambulance in route to the hospital. When I played it for my parents my Mom got the strangest look on her face. She told me NEVER to play that again while she was at home. My Dad didnt say much, but I could tell they were both disturbed! Well if you are brave enough listen to it. Today seems like the perfect day for it! Make sure you listen on some good speakers or earphones and remember these were the 70s. The music was supposed to trip you out! Happy Halloween!
