When it comes to buying supplements, there are a few things to consider before you invest: 1. Is you diet in the right place? What I mean by that, is are you getting as many of the nutrients your body needs from the food you eat? If you are eating predominantly fresh meat, fish, a wide variety of veggies and fruits then you probably dont need to be excessive with your supplement purchases 2. Do you have any nutritional deficiencies? What are you aiming to achieve through taking supplements - they should be used to replace nutrients that you are not getting enough of through your diet, not to replace foods in your diet 3. Are they good quality? Not all supplements are of equal quality, usually the cheaper ones are cheaper for a reason - they may be lower in strength or not made from low grade nutrients For most people, the supplements they would see most benefit from are: - Omega-3 fish oil - a basic multi-vitamin - a probiotic (if they suffer from digestive issues such as IBS) - a greens drink (most people dont eat enough veggies) - a whey protein shake (if you need to increase protein intake for before/after training or if you just arent eating enough to fill your requirements)
