When it comes to the ways of God and his eternal plan, a mindset of faith says: I only know in part, but a religious-fundamental mindset says: I know everything! Every. single. thing! Remember, we are talking about a God who created the entire universe. A God who, in our current earthly experience, is beyond our full understanding, and a God who has a plan indefinitely bigger than any of us could possibly compute in our minds. Religious fundamentalism refuses to accept the unknown aspects of God, and so becomes a prison of self-made certainty. It is not about living by faith, but living by fact (although they are not actually facts at all, only self-created walls used to hide from the reality of the unknown) Better to simply live by faith. Live at peace within the great unknown parts of God. Rejoice in the part you do know, and accept the reality that you dont know everything. As the Apostle Paul says: For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
