When it enters the sea,of stagnant waters, the water will become - TopicsExpress

When it enters the sea,of stagnant waters, the water will become fresh (Ezek 47:8) The river of God fills our hearts with cheer - so goes the song, the river of God. In todays first Reading Ezekiel has a vision of the temple - the water flowing from its river turns even the stagnant sea fresh. Do our lives often feel meaningless and stagnant, like the sea? We can easily be refreshed by the river of God, which fills us with life and profound joy. Those who are attached to the temple of God (Eucharist and Sacraments), from the which the river of life flows, lack nothing. They are like trees with leaves that heal. In the Gospel, Jesus heals a man Beth-zatha. The man had trust and faith in God - we know this through his actions. When Jesus tells him to stand up, he stands without a second thought, and is healed at once. Do we trust and have implicit faith in God like that man or do we have doubts? Whatever the situation in our lives, we should always believe God and act accordingly. Are we attached to the river of God or are we detached from it and more into worldly ways of living? We will be fresh and fruitful only if we are attached to God. FRUIT: This season of Lent let us remain in Gods presence, trusting and having faith in him. Let it show in our actions.
