When it rains, it pours - or maybe we should say snows! Our swan - TopicsExpress

When it rains, it pours - or maybe we should say snows! Our swan saving volunteer duo was at it again yesterday and pulled one more tundra swan from the ice on Lake Monona that is suffering from lead poisoning. It is too early to say if she will make it, but we do know that had she stayed out on the ice, she definitely would not have survived. For giving her that second chance, we send a big thank you out to concerned people that alerted us that the bird was in trouble, and to our volunteers who cared enough to take the time to rescue the bird in some of this winters most frigid weather. We are also grateful for the donations weve received so far to help offset the costs of care and chelation therapy for the first two birds - the bald eagle and first swan. Now with three birds trying to recover from lead poisoning, your contribution is really needed! If you would like to donate, please visit https://giveshelter.org/make-a-donation.html. Select Four Lakes Wildlife Center and type Swan or Bald Eagle in the comment section. Thank you for helping us help them!
