The next step is up to you: When you’re ready to go ahead with treatment, we’ll schedule a complete dental assessment at our office. This includes a review of your scans, a thorough periodontal (gum) examination, a series of photographs and impressions, detailed charting. There is also time to answer any questions you may have about any aspect of the procedure. The exam can take a couple of hours, and we don’t rush it. Once we’re satisfied with the treatment plan and all of your concerns have been addressed, then we will schedule your implant surgery – usually within two or three weeks. To make sure everything is going according to plan, we will schedule follow-up examinations 10 days, six weeks and three months after surgery. Finally, about six months after your procedure, we’ll schedule an appointment to have your final new teeth placed. By then, your gums will be completely healed and the implants fully integrated into your jawbone.
